Tom Heaphy Completes Kiltwalk to Support Home-Start Glasgow South

Friends Legal’s very own Tom Heaphy — and his daughter Holly — have walked the Glasgow Kiltwalk to raise money for charity. In total, they raised over £1200 for Home-Start Glasgow South, adorned in their promotional t-shirts to raise awareness for the charity and all the good it does for the local community.

As a charity partner of Friends Legal, Home-Start Glasgow South shares our values. They are a key advocate of fairness, inclusivity and providing the right service in the right way to people when they need it most. Friends Legal’s donation, through Tom’s walk, will go to this local charity to help families in the South of Glasgow.

The Kiltwalk was a great way to raise money and let people know of the great work Home-Start Glasgow South undertake.”

— Tom Heaphy

What is the Glasgow Kiltwalk?

The 2021 Kiltwalk took place on a lovely sunny Sunday, the 26th of September. It was attended by thousands of people and supported by many big Scottish brands. The walk features two routes throughout Glasgow, and was set-off by Sir Tom Hunter himself. The walk is aimed to be inclusive, which allowed a wide variety of supporters to participate. Most attendees walked in kilts, tartan and their chosen charity’s merchandise.

The Kiltwalk raises money for Scottish charities and with Sire Tom Hunter matching every donation by 50%. Meaning our donation to Home-Start Glasgow South over the £1000 mark! Tom’s fundraising page is still live, so if you wish to support Tom’s walk and Home-Start Glasgow South, you can donate here.

Home-Start Glasgow South is a charity that helps give young children the best possible start in life. They have supported thousands of families since establishing in 2000. Friends Legal are proud to support the charity, knowing how positive their impact is to the local community. Caitlin Brown, the charities Community Fundraiser, praised our support by saying:

Thank you to Tom, Holly and our Friends Legal partnership, for your support in this year’s Kiltwalk. With your support we can be there for more families, train more volunteers and support families when they need us most. Our shared values of non-judgemental and confidential support promotes trust, confidence in the support we offer families. On behalf of everyone at Home-Start Glasgow South, thank you for your Kiltwalk Kindness.

— Caitlin Brown

Friends Legal will continue to support the charity past the Kiltwalk. We have scheduled a free legal webinar, with members of our team, to educate people on the need for Wills and Power of Attorney, and provide a tailored discount that will also help raise money for the charity.
