The Friends Legal team donated to the Barlanark Family Support Service and Ruchazie Family Centre.
The holiday season can be a tough time for a number of people, and so, this year we raised money for families in the North East of Glasgow at the Barlanark Family Support Service and Ruchazie Family Centre; services which are founded through one of Scotland’s leading social care charities, Quarriers.
We were delighted to hear back from the Glasgow Quarriers team at the beginning of the year, informing us that contributions of gifts and food were distributed between families who were struggling financially over the festive period. The donations they received were able to help families have a truly memorable Christmas.
Quarriers are dedicated to helping children and adults overcome adversity, assisting adults with disabilities, children and families, those with epilepsy, and young people.
The Barlanark Family Support Centre focuses on helping families affected by poverty, domestic abuse, mental health issues and substance misuse to develop positive relationships and overcome their difficulties. They provide high-quality childcare for children up to three years old through placement in their Ruchazie Nursery. They also support the parents through advice programmes, one-to-one counselling, and parent/child activities for engaging the family, all of which are delivered from their Family Centre facility.
